Before Your Wedding
I will work with you via phone, email, fax, and even personal meetings to ensure that the details of your wedding day go exactly as you want it to. Your wedding is the most important day of your life and I understand this, so you can feel free to call me at any time to ask a question or to discuss details. I have heard so many stories of people hiring DJs and never getting a hold of them once the deposit is paid. I feel this is rude and unacceptable, so never hesitate to call me. I feel that the pre-planning is one of the most important steps of a DJ's service and it is often unused by Brides. My prices include this planning time so make sure you use it.
Ceremony (If Needed)
I arrive 2 hours early to set-up and run a sound check to insure that everything works properly. Based on how the seating is arranged, I pick the best place possible to stay un-obtrusive, yet effective. I then find the minister of the ceremony and set them up with a Lapel mic, so that your guests will be able to hear ceremony. Outdoor weddings have to compete with the sounds of wind, fountains, birds, traffic, planes, etc. So having a PA at the ceremony really helps in making the ceremony audible. At the appropriate time, I will play background music as to set the mood for your guests as they are being seated. Then as the ceremony begins, I will play the songs requested by you. (i.e.. Wedding March, Trumpet Voluntary, Cannon in D, Ave Maria, Recessional, etc..) I also have the ability to mic Quartets or other Musicians that you might include in your ceremony. Feel free to ask for recommendations or to listen to the tracks.
Transition
After the ceremony is over, its time for you to have your pictures taken and its time for me to set up inside to prepare for your Grand Entrance. As you are having your pictures taken or just embracing your new husband or wife, your guest will be treated to a mix of background music as they cocktail and dine on hors d'oeuvres awaiting the newly wed couple.
Reception
As you enter, I will announce you to your guests and then its time to wine, dine, dance, and relax. Working with the caterer and your photographer, I will announce the events as they happen and inform your guest as where to go. There are many different ways in which to do the reception and upon meeting or speaking with you, we can set up a plan that best suits your needs.
Dancing and Music
Every crowd is different and it's up to a great DJ to be able to read the crowd. Any one can press buttons on a CD player, but it takes experience and skill to play the correct songs. With my extensive library of music I am able to please any crowd. With your input, I will make sure to stay away from any music you dislike and to play music you like. I even take requests from your guests. Do you have a tradition you want to perform, let me know, and we will include it into the reception timeline. (i.e.. School fight song, Sorority/Fraternity tradition, a singer, etc...) Anything is possible on your day and its my job to help it happen, so don't hesitate to ask me anything.
Exit
The wine is all gone, and you're tired of dancing, now its time to leave. I will instruct your guests as to where to go and what to toss to give you the best send off possible. Whether its a horse carriage ride around Dallas or a Honeymoon suite at the Adolphus Hotel; it's finally time to sit back and reflect on the best day of your life. Some couples even do a fake exit, just for picture sake, and come back in to party till the bar runs out, its up to you.
